Week 9 (Aug 27-31)
Players will participate in three hours of on-ice skill development daily, designed to improve confidence and ability, in a fun girls-only environment.
Development will begin with instruction on proper skating technique, with drills designed to work on all four edges, which when mastered will allow players to improve agility and speed through an efficient skating stride. Our qualified skating instructors will cover the proper habits for forwards and backwards skating, transitions, crossovers, and tight turns.
On-ice development will progress to focus on the ability to shoot with accuracy, quickness and power, the confidence to maintain and control the puck in every game situation, and the stick-handling techniques needed to take your game to the next level.
Off-ice conditioning will develop footwork, speed, agility, hand-eye co-ordination and overall fitness in sessions led by expert instructors from FitQuest (Bell Sensplex) and Titan Performance Center (Richcraft Sensplex).
Goalies will receive teaching from qualified instructors on the technical aspects of goaltending and be involved in drills run with live shooters.
Players in the Girls Only Camp will take part in separate activities off-ice and will be integrated in some co-ed on-ice activities at the discretion of our lead instructors.
Please note that we will have at least one bilingual instructor with each camp group at the Richcraft Sensplex to accommodate all participants.
