Bell Sensplex - Week 3 (July 15-19)
- Three hours of daily ice time in a full-day camp format with skill development using individual station work, and small-area games that maintain a focus on proper technique at all times.
Pucks will be in play for all stations and other drills; ensuring that girls will have the opportunity to take more shots and handle more pucks than in any program we’ve ever run in the past.
On-ice development will focus on shooting, enhancing puck control abilities (particularly in tight spaces) by addressing hand position, knee bend and stick-handling technique; as well as dekes and skating with speed, and the proper body positioning needed to protect the puck at all times. Drills are designed to improve reaction time, awareness and compete levels, and teach girls to capitalize on net-front opportunities (particularly, scoring on rebounds and deflections).
Our qualified Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs instructors bring a wealth of experience teaching the skills needed to develop well-rounded puck skills. Our experience as a skill development provider for the Nepean, Kanata, and Ottawa Girls Hockey Associations, as well as a provider of our other girls only camps, makes us uniquely qualified to design and lead a program based on the needs of female hockey players.
Our instructing model is based on error detection & correction, with most drills run in small groups focused on a specific technique or skill. All drills are designed to increase confidence and assertiveness with the puck and in winning battles.
Off-ice conditioning will develop footwork, speed, agility, hand-eye co-ordination and overall fitness in sessions led by expert instructors from FitQuest (Bell Sensplex).
Please note that we will have at least one bilingual instructor with each camp group at the Richcraft Sensplex to accommodate all participants.
LUNCH PLAN OPTION
Participants in all full-day camps have the option of purchasing a quality lunch plan provided by Stanley’s Fresh Grill at the Bell Sensplex. Participants may also pack their own lunch; though please note that our camps are a nut-free environment. The full lunch plan menu will be available in early February and can be added to your camp registration right up until the Monday of your camp week.
FRIEND REQUEST POLICY
If you wish to have your camper paired with a friend, please indicate that request upon registering online. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but please be mindful that we cannot guarantee that friend requests will be honoured, as groupings are based on age, skill level and enrollment date.
Start & End Times / Pre & Post-Camp Care
