OCA Accreditation is just another reason to choose the Ottawa Senators Hockey Camps

Capital Sports Management Inc. (operator of the Bell, Cavanagh, and Richcraft Sensplex facilities) announced today that the Ottawa Senators Hockey Camps are now an accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association.

The Sens Hockey Camps are the first accredited hockey camp in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, and one of only two OCA accredited hockey camps in the province.

In order to become a member of the OCA, a camp must meet the highest standards of safety, supervision, and quality programming, and must demonstrate these standards through multiple visits from the OCA.

“Over the last three years, we’ve worked with the OCA to make continuous improvements to our camps,” said Matt Chesser, manager of development programs for the Sensplex facilities. “We believe that our new OCA accreditation is yet another signal to parents that they can trust our camps to deliver their son or daughter’s best camp experience ever.”

The OCA is voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining high standards for camps through defining “best camp practices” and supporting members in improving camp offerings. To become accredited, a camp must undertake a three-year process of visits from other camp professionals and a comprehensive review of camp procedures and policies.

“The accreditation process has allowed us to ensure we’re meeting the highest standards of safety and supervision,” said Chesser. “We’re dedicated to continually improving both the on-ice and off-ice aspects of our camps, by sending camp directors to the annual OCA conference and participating in annual visits to other OCA camps.”

Beginning July 4, the Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps presented by Canadian Tire offer game-changing instruction, unique Sens experiences, and valuable training on and off the ice. With 69 camps to choose from at three state-of-the-art facilities (the Bell Sensplex, Richcraft Sensplex, and Cavanagh Sensplex), there are options for every player (elite, competitive, recreational, or beginner) anywhere in the city.
