The development sessions (offered to both individuals and teams) are tailored to every skill level, from specialized elite player training to learn-to-skate classes, and include an individual progression plan designed by Ottawa Senators Hockey Program’s Head of Hockey Development, Ryan Smyth, and Head Hockey Instructor, Andrew Dilworth, to help track results.
A large focus is placed on immediate error detection and correction by expert instructors who are continually trained on the latest skill development techniques. Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs exceptionally trained staff work equally hard to build relationships with each participant. They provide individualized instruction to help your child develop the skills needed to succeed this season and enjoy hockey more than ever.
“While each of our weekly skill development programs are run as group sessions, our instructors spend time focusing on each individual to ensure that they are getting just as much out of the program as the next player who may have different needs”, said Smyth. “We also tailor our approach to suit the personality of the child. Those who need more of a push are pushed to be their best, while those who may not yet be as comfortable on the ice, are given the support they need.”
Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs affiliation with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club means that all aspects are held to a high standard of excellence and dedicated to providing every participant with the very best opportunity to develop as a hockey player. The ultimate goal is for all players to have a positive experience, build on their confidence and enjoy the game as much as possible.
