Schedules for the Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps vary by group, depending on the age, skill level, and focus of each camp.
All camps, however, share similar core programming elements and a focus on skill development through a system of demonstration, error detection, and correction. Off-ice activities are designed to be both fun & valuable, and typically include off-ice conditioning sessions led by specialized instructors from FitQuest (Bell Sensplex) or Titan Performance Centre (Richcraft Sensplex), team sports that develop skills transferable to hockey such as soccer, soccer baseball and Frisbee. Classroom sessions are designed and lead by a certified teachers at both the Bell Sensplex & Richcraft Sensplex.
Below, you’ll find sample schedules for a “typical” day at a full-day or half-day camp. The schedules for each camp will be posted on individual camp pages by early May and will differ from the samples provided on this page. Camp schedules & detail emails will be sent to each participant at least 10 days in advance of your camp start date.
SAMPLE HALF DAY SCHEDULE (Novice campers and older)
Sign-in times for individual camps typically fall between 7:15 AM and 9:15 AM, while sign-out times are usually between 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Specific start and end times for each camp will be posted on individual camp pages by early February. We do not charge for pre or post camp care within the range of sign-in and sign-out times during that specific camp week and are happy to make accommodations for supervision for your child should you have other commitments. We ask that you notify us by email should you need to drop off your child early or pick him/her up late. Please note that early drop-off or late pick-up activities will not involve formal programming, but will feature supervision by camp staff.
On individual camp pages, you may notice that we have more than one group for a specific camp. For example, a Complete Player Development Camp may have three different groups, all with different start and end times. Please note that camper groupings will be created based on age (though consideration will also be given to skill level & enrollment date).
As such, we cannot accommodate requests to be placed with a specific group (e.g. – we could not place your child in Complete Player Development Group 2 simply because that is your preferred camp schedule, as your camper might be too young or too old for the group). You will be notified of your camp group and specific schedule at least 10 days prior to your camp start date. In the meantime, please note the range of start and end times listed in the paragraph above.
If you wish to have your camper paired with a friend, please indicate that request upon registering online. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but please be mindful that we cannot guarantee that friend requests will be honoured, as groupings are based on age, skill level and enrollment date.
