Hailing from Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia, Jake is the current Head of Hockey Development for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs; responsible for planning and leading ice sessions for thousands of players from the beginner to elite levels. He is also in charge of training and developing OSHP instructional staff. Jake works primarily with competitive and elite athletes in our high performance programs, including HPP, SSHD AAA, and all OSHP development programs.

Jake joined the Senators organization in March 2022, taking on a full-time position coaching and instructing our athletes. He brings a high level of coaching ability and many years of playing experience to our local development community. Prior to beginning his career as a professional coach and instructor, he took to the ice in the MJAHL (Maritime Junior A Hockey League) and played collegiate hockey in U-Sports for Royal Military College.

He will also serve as both a Head and Assistant Coach for the SSHD AAA Hockey Club, where he will be responsible for player recruitment, evaluation, mentorship, delivering weekly elite skill development for players of all ages and skill levels, and much more.

Jake is also the Head Skills Coach for Senators Elite Development which oversees the Myers Automotive AAA Hockey Development Program & Eastern Ontario Wild AAA Hockey Development Program; operating weekly throughout the 2024-25 season at the Bell Sensplex.
